Common questions
I lost my 12 words. Can you recover my profile?
No - and that is the point. There is no server copy of your keys, so nobody, including us, can restore a lost phrase. Write the words down when you create a profile and keep them offline.
The recipient cannot read my envelope.
Check that you encrypted to their current address (sk1…) and that the whole armored block was copied, including both BEGIN and END lines. An envelope is readable only by the addresses selected when it was created.
Where is my data stored?
Only on your device. The 12 words restore just the key and the address - they carry no contacts or history. To move everything to a new device, make an encrypted .skb backup in Settings and import it there.
What is the duress PIN?
A second PIN you can set in Settings. Entering it opens an empty profile or wipes the real one - depending on what you chose. Treat it as a last-resort measure and test it before relying on it.
